Car computersEach year the European auto maker continue to make the cars more complex with more computers, sometimes this is a good thing sometimes not. But whatever the case to work on anything from 2000 on up you will need access to a factory computer for certain items. On the 05 BMW, and Mercedes,VW you will need a computer to release the brake system. Then when you are finished you will need the factory computer to reactivate the the brake system and reset the light.The same goes for oil changes, air filters, spark plus ect, I hope you get my drift. The days of the do it yourselfer is coming to a end. The cheap scan tools will not reset many of these items and in some cases even damage the on board computers. |
