Check Engine Light
At about 70,000 miles the 993 Porsche will usually
have a check engine light come on which refers to the secondary air system, but
what is really happening is the air injection ports in the head are clogged with
carbon. The only correct way to fix this problem is to disassemble the engine to
the heads.Have the heads and cam towers bead blasted to remove the carbon build
up. At this point it is also highly recommened to have the valve guides and valves
inspected for excessive ware.
